However, one detects a certain smugness in the tone, as if the author is not genuinely concerned about these issues. <BR/><BR/>The article makes repeated reference to the "secular" nature of our society, attributing these ills to secularism, whereas I would have expected the more natural connection to be made would have been with materialism and the lack of spirituality in society.
