The image above is of some tourists from sleepy Singapore who were stopped by American police during the policing for the build up to the 9/11 anniversary, more on that later.

Before pondering on the fate of the poor Singaporean tourists, a little tale.

I have a wall that needs fixing , so one day a builder (let’s call him Bob) who was ‘in the area’ decides he can do the work for me it seems pretty straightforward, he turns up does the work I pay him. However being a builder Bob does the usual thing of saying he will turn up in a few days which turns into weeks and Bob is nowhere to be seen, he then shows up reassuring all and sundry he will start work soon and that he was too busy before. He does this 2 or 3 times, as we have agreed that payment upon completion I don’t really care if he ever turns up or not, but lets just say I don’t trust Bob anymore.

As well as a wall that needs repairing I have two children, who are very excited about the prospect of bricks and cement transforming into a wall, they are also inquisitive as to why Bob keeps saying he will begin work but he never does. It is quite difficult to explain to a six and a four year old that this is how builders operate, the naivety of childhood still exists.

However I do my best saying Bob is probably very busy, then a moment of total clarity from my daughter (she is six), who says that it means ‘Bob is a liar’, I ponder , I try and make an excuse for Bob but to be frankly honest I have no choice but to agree with her.

The take home message from my tale is much the same as the one of ‘the boy who cried wolf’, if you lie and keep on lying eventually people will not believe you anymore.

So when Mrs Clinton (not Monica, Hilary) stands in front of the world and two days before the 10th anniversary of 9/11 almost gleefully claims there is a real and credible threat from Al-Qaeda attacking New York and Washington, excuse the cynic in me if it kind of reminds of my friend Bob. I say this not without reason, I like the rest of the world was assured that Al-Qaeda was finished after the killing of Osama Bin-Laden in Pakistan, and his ‘ultra-orthodox Islamic’ burial at sea. This was further given credence by the capture (or was it killing) of the second in command of Al-Qaeda in Pakistan last week. After all why else is Obama pulling troops out of Afghanistan, it is job done, right?

Then there is the analysis coming from well respected political analysts such as Stratfor in an article titled ‘9/11 the Successful War‘  said:

“The first mission of the war that followed 9/11 was to prevent any further attacks. That mission was accomplished. That is a fact often forgotten.”

Stratfor has also reacted to the plot threat via an article  entitled ”U.S.: Past Attacks Cast Doubt on Reported 9/11 Anniversary Plot“, the title says it all. It goes on to say any threat would not be the Fox News , whooping , media attention grabbing one that Clinton is making it out to be.

It is amazing that between the killing of Bin-Laden and the 10th anniversary of 9/11 Al-Qaeda have gone from being a minor league baseball team to all of a sudden becoming the New York Yankees , with Babe Ruth as their main player.

Maybe Bob is now advising Mrs Clinton on terrorist threats, its probably a good gig if you can get it.

Just to prove I could also work for The Clintons I have done my own analysis on the photo above, I’m sure The White House still allows internships or did Monica put paid to all of that?

It may look like a line up from the Usual Suspects, but I would worry about the man second from the end of the lineup (the one with the chequered shirt) , he was facial growth surely he is the spiritual head of the cell. Then there is the South East Asian looking chap at the end who has his hands tied in a Muslim prayer postion. Finally the guy in the middle with the big smile , he HAS to be Kaiser Soze, elementary my dear Clinton.

I just also noticed they chap with something white in his pocket, is he Chemical Ali in disguise trying to hide hi lab coat I bet.

Credible threat, how very convenient.

Disclaimer: No Singaporeans were harmed in the writing of this article and all those appearing in the photo are actually innocent and most probably very nice people.
