There is so much that could be said about the feeble attempt by the BBC to subvert the life of Mohammad (saw). However the night is but long and time is short therefore I must summarize my total and utter dismay at what was meant to a historical series by the BBC on the life of Mohammad (saw).
I personally thought part one was bad, which failed to discuss the true miracle of the Quran. The miracle which was the essence of what made the life of Mohammad (saw) so unique and special, any Muslim knows that. Once you leave the essence of the miracle out then you are left with nothing more than a man who somehow led a people to greatness, maybe this was the intention of the Orientalist agenda all along; that and the idea that Islam is not a definitive truth leaving it open to the reformist agenda. I won’t touch on the clever way in which the Satanic verses and the lie that it is was left to the end of the program almost insinuating that it had some historical merit, when it has none.
Episode two was even more full of untruths, it denigrated the Al-Isra wal Miraj to nothing more than a fairy tail, even calling it an embellishment. It then claimed Mohammad (saw) entered Medina as a refugee, when history shows he entered as a leader of a state. Moving onto the treaty of Medina it said it was concocted and that Badr was nothing more than a skirmish.
Ragi Omar (quite frankly I don’t care if I have misspelt his name) who has none of my respect anymore went onto say that the manner in which the prophet (saw) dealt with the treacherous tribes who betrayed him was ‘appalling’. The program went onto call this the first holocaust.
I could go on and on but my mind is made up the BBC series is nothing more than an attack on Islam no better than that of the cartoons. As for those Muslims who are involved in making this reformist rubbish may Allah (swt) judge you the way he knows best.
If want to know about the life of Mohammad (saw) read this or this do not take the words of the BBC as the truth.
